The Green Amendment movement is happening in many states and has been introduced by Senator George Dungan in Jan as LR 22CA. This would amend the state constitution's bill of rights to recognize environmental rights, placeing them on par with other fundamental rights like free speech, private property and freedom of religionPassage of a Nebraska Green Amendment will allow the people of Nebraska to proactively protect
our environment, communities and state economy.

The Green Amendment would read: "All people have a right to a clean and healthy environment, including pure water, clean air, healthy soils, balanced ecosystems, a safe climate, and diverse and abundant native flora and fauna and to the preservation of the natural, cultural, scenic, recreational, and healthful qualities of the environment. The state, and each subdivision thereof, shall serve as trustee of the natural resources of Nebraska and shall conserve, protect, and maintain such resources for the benefit of all the people, including present and future generations. The rights and obligations in this section shall be self-executing.” If passed by a 3/5 majority of the unicameral, the amendment would then go to the ballot for Nebraska voters to decide.  Thank you for showing your faith stance as we together show we care for our Creator's Earth and future generations!
